Photography is a curious mix of spontaneity and process. As a practise, it can tutor the ability to be present in a moment and be compassionate communicator of this; the dance between the observer and the observed. I am honed in numberless ways as I live and learn.
In archiving this show here, I can appreciate the seeds of ideas that have since developed … and where, at the time, I could have been braver, in allowing fewer pieces to say more about the ideas as they stood.
I also remember well-met days in a studio in Cape Town, where I was making the prints for the show ... passionately pouring over the resonance of two tones, fervidly designing how it could all hang together in two European spaces very different from each other. Consumed with further books and talks on youtube about Quantum theory and Zen philosophy ... As out of the window the wind played the sun across the Atlantic.
